TCU weathered an early push from Texas Tech in the second half that saw the Red Raiders generate two shots and two corner kicks.
From there, the Horned Frogs went on the attack, funneling shots towards the net and keeping Texas Tech at bay. Bright had a couple of good looks, one a point-blank shot that was kicked away by the Red Raider goalkeeper and another that sailed just high over the crossbar..

Game assessment
"We knew that they might throw something at us a little bit different and they did with their shape. Fortunately for us, we were able to get two goals relatively quickly against their shape. It was a good cushion for us to help us settle down and start playing TCU soccer.
"Texas Tech is a good team. The record doesn't show that, but they are well coached and they are going to be prepared. They threw something at us that our kids were able to handle, so I'm proud of our group for dealing with it.
"I'm happy with the overall performance. We get another shutout. Emily does a good job. The back line and the front six do a good job preventing shots and fighting. It wasn't the prettiest, but it is a good win for us."
