TCU Men’s Tennis opens up 2020 season at home this weekend
FORT WORTH – TCU men's tennis is set to begin its 2020 fall season at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center when they host student-athletes from five different schools in the TCU Invitational. Matches will take place from Friday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 18 on the purple courts.
This will be the first opportunity for the Horned Frogs to play competitive tennis back on campus. The team returns all of its roster from the 2019-20 season. A season that finished with a nine-match win streak and an ITA team ranking of No. 7. The winning streak was tied for the longest among Power 5 teams across the country.
Four Horned Frogs were ranked in the ITA at the conclusion of last season: No. 30 Alastair Gray, No. 77 Luc Fomba, No. 105 Tadeas Paroulek and No. 119 Jake Fearnley. Additionally, two doubles pairings finished the year ranked in the ITA doubles rankings: Gray and Fearnley came in at No. 27 with Paroulek and Sander Jong at No. 55.
The Opponents
Student-athletes from five different schools will come to the Bayard H. Friedman tennis center to compete in the tournament. The participating schools will be Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Baylor, and Oklahoma State. All five teams were ranked in the final ITA team rankings from this spring, with only Texas (No. 4) earning a higher ranking than TCU.
