
Preview: No. 8 TCU at No. 16 Michigan

FORT WORTH -- TCU men's tennis prepares for its second road duel against a ranked opponent this season when the No. 8 Horned Frogs travel to Ann Arbor for a Saturday morning bout with No. 16 Michigan. Doubles play is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (CT) with singles play to follow.

TCU enters play with a 3-0 record, coming off back-to-back 4-0 sweeps of Florida Atlantic and Arizona in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Junior Alastair Gray was named Big 12 Player of the Week for his efforts as tallied his second ranked singles victory this season, over No. 61, as well as winning both of his doubles matches with his partner, Jacob Fearnley.
As a team, the Horned Frogs have achieved strong results through three matches. They are a perfect, 6-0 in doubles matches and 10-2 in singles competition.
Head coach David Roditi has shown plenty of trust in the young talent on the roster as he started a lineup of three freshmen, two sophomores and a junior in singles last weekend. The squad won all six of their matches, including freshmen Tadeas Paroulek taking down No. 36 Malbasic of Arizona at the No. 2 singles slot. It was the first ranked-win of his career and his first victory at No. 2 singles.
Elsewhere on the courts, freshman Tomas Jirousek won both of his singles matches at No. 6 in his collegiate tennis debut, including winning the duel clinching match on Saturday, against FAU.
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
Michigan is ranked No. 16 in the latest ITA poll. The Wolverines are 4-1 on the season after qualifying for the ITA Indoor Natationals last weekend by taking down Ole Miss and Texas Tech, 4-3. Michigan dropped its only previous ranked duel this season when No. 23 NC State bested them, 4-3.
