FORT WORTH – The No. 8-ranked TCU men's tennis team prepares to host four matches as a part of the annual ITA Kickoff weekend at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center this weekend, Jan. 25-26. The Horned Frogs will host Florida Atlantic, Arizona and Notre Dame over the two-day tournament on the Bartzen Varsity Courts.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Arizona v. Notre Dame – Saturday 11 a.m.
No. 8 TCU v. FAU – Saturday 2 p.m.
Loser Match 1 v. Loser Match 2 – Sunday 11 a.m.
Winner Match 1 v. Winner Match 2 – Sunday 2 p.m.

TCU is coming off its first win of the 2020 duel season, on the road over No. 25 Arizona State last Saturday, 5-2. The win featured the first ranked victory of the season for No. 51 Alastair Gray as he ousted his opponent, ranked No. 99, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, without conceding a break. Other notable results included doubles and singles victories from both Sander Jong and No. 100 (singles) Luc Fomba as well as a victory in the spring debut of No. 119 Jacob Fearnley at the No. 4 position.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Both Arizona and Notre Dame are receiving votes in the latest ITA team rankings poll. Arizona enters the weekend with a 4-0 record, earning wins over Hawai'I, UC Riverside and Northern Arizona. The Wildcats have yet to surrender more than one point in a duel. Notre Dame stands at 1-1, defeating Purdue in its last match after falling to Kentucky. Florida Atlantic is 2-3 on the season, 0-2 against ranked opponents, falling 0-7 to both No. 2 Florida and No. 21 Florida State.
