Frogs face loaded field at NCI
FORT WORTH – TCU will take on nine ranked teams at the Nike Collegiate Invitational starting Sunday, with tee times between 10 a.m. -12:20 p.m. CT at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore.
The annual tournament, which rotates between North Plains and Fort Worth, is always loaded with some of the top teams in the nation. This season's field features five of the nation's top 10 teams, according to the Golf Coaches' Association of America Coaches' Poll. Also, the last four NCAA Champions are included with Oregon (2016), Oklahoma (2017), Oklahoma State (2018) and Stanford (2019).
The Horned Frogs will start the first round Sunday morning and follow with 18 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. They will go with the lineup of Thomas Allkins, Mateo Fernández de Oliveira, Gustav Frimodt, Justin Gums and Aymeric Laussot.
LAST TIME OUT
TCU is coming off a runner-up finish at the Hartford Hawks Invitational, Sept. 16-17, in South Kent, Conn. Gums led the Frogs with a score of 4-under 212 and finished tied for ninth. The Frogs had two others finish in the top 20 with Allkins tied for 12th and Fernández de Oliveira tied for 14th.

Located 20 miles west of Portland, Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club features two championship golf courses. The Witch Hollow course was the site of the 1996 U.S. Amatuer Championship, Tiger Woods' third-straight championship. In the late 2015, a new chapter at Pumpkin Ridge began as the property was acquired by Fort Worth-based Escalante Golf.
