
Frogs Finish Second at Hartford Hawks Invitational

Gums leads TCU
SOUTH KENT, Conn. – TCU's men's golf team finished as the runner-up on Tuesday at the Hartford Hawks Invitational in South Kent, Conn.
The Horned Frogs shot 2-under 286 in the third and final round at Bull's Bridge Golf Club and finished 8-under 856 overall. UCF won the tournament with a score of 24-under 840.
Sophomore Justin Gums tied a career best with a score of 4-under 212. He tied for ninth place, his best career-finish when contributing to a TCU team score.
Junior Thomas Allkins had his best score as a Horned Frog. He shot three rounds of 1-under 71 to finish 3-under 213 and placed tied for 12th. Freshman Mateo Fernández de Oliveira had his best round of 2-under 70 on Tuesday and finished tied for 14th at 2-under 214.
Freshman Gustav Frimodt rounded out the scorers for the Frogs. He finished in 21st place with a score of 1-over 217.
Junior Trevor Brown led the four TCU golfers who competed as individuals. He shot a career-best 2-under 214 and finished tied for 14th.
The Horned Frogs will be back in action Sept. 29 – Oct. 1 at the Nike Collegiate Invitational in North Plains, Ore.
