
Springer Named All-America Scholar

Trophy Club native earns another award
FORT WORTH, Texas – Senior Hayden Springer was named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association Wednesday.
It's the second consecutive season Springer has been recognized as an All-America Scholar, which is awarded to a junior or senior with a scoring average under 76.0, has participated in 50 percent of team competitions and holds a career cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Springer, who finished third on the team with an average score of 71.74, had TCU's best finish at the NCAA Championships with a score of 8-over 296 to tie for 28th place. The Trophy Club, Texas native won the Big 12 Championship in April after shooting 8-under 202 and a week later was named the Big 12 Men's Golfer of the Month. His career best came at the Lake Charles Invitational when he shot 13-under 203, which included a career-best round of 6-under 66.
This adds to the awards list for Springer who was named Big 12 Men's Golf Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year, PING All-Central Region and All-Big 12 honors. Springer, who transferred from Texas Tech after his sophomore season, is working towards a degree in Entrepreneurial Management and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.539.
