FORT WORTH – TCU women's rifle head coach Karen Monez announced the signing of Grace Taschuk to an NLI. Grace is the younger sister of former Horned Frog, Allie Taschuk, who was a member of the rifle team from 2012-16.
"We're very excited Grace will be joining the FrogFam in the fall," said Monez. "Grace has a great personality with the drive and dedication that it takes to be successful both on and off the range. She has the characteristics we value and strive for and I am excited to see how she continues to progress with her shooting."
Taschuk is a two-time Eley High School All-American from Andover, Minn. She's the three-time defending Minnesota Junior Olympic air rifle state champion. She's also a three-time smallbore state champion, winning her first title in 2015 and claiming back-to-back championships in 2018-19. Her Junior Olympic championships also extend to 3-position air rifle (2015, 2017). In addition, she was crowned the 4H smallbore and 3-position air rifle state champion in 2017.
A six-time National Junior Olympic Championship qualifier, Taschuk has placed second in her age group (2014), first in 2015 and third in 2017. Additionally, she qualified for the American Legion Air Rifle Championships in 2015 and 2017. She was award the American Legion National Sportsmanship award in 2017.
In 2015, she earned a bronze medal in her age group at the Civilian Marksmanship Program National Championships. She also earned a Civilian Marksmanship Distinguished Badge.
Taschuk will be a freshman in the fall.
