Ravetto, in second place, puts his name in the record books
LAKE CHARLES, La. – Senior David Ravetto tied a school record to lead the TCU men's golf team, which shot 36-under over two rounds Monday at the Lake Charles Invitational.
Playing at The Country Club at the Golden Nugget, Ravetto played a bogey-free first round and shot six birdies and one eagle for a score of 8-under 64. The 8-under par ties Julien Brun (2014-15) and Adam Rubinson (2001-02) for the school record. The round of 64 ties with five others for second in school history for the lowest round ever at TCU. The Paris, France native followed that round with a 6-under 66, which included seven birdies. His only bogey on the day came on the No. 18 hole in Rd. 2.
Ravetto shot 14-under 130 over 36 holes and is in second place, one shot behind the leader, Sandy Scott (-15) of Texas Tech. One place behind Ravetto is Hayden Springer, who shot nine birdies and two eagles over two rounds and is in third place at 11-under 133. Altogether, four Horned Frogs shot under par for both rounds as senior Triston Fisher shot a 2-under 70 and 1-under 71 to finish the first day tied for 20th at 3-under 141.
