Horned Frogs take aim at stringing wins together late in the season
FORT WORTH – TCU volleyball will have a chance at consecutive conference victories when they take the court against West Virginia on Wednesday evening inside WVU Coliseum. First serve is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
The Horned Frogs defeated WVU in the first meeting on Oct. 24, a 3-0 home sweep over the visiting Mountaineers. TCU set a program record in that match for the most kills in a three-set Big 12 match, with 48.
Match Information
Last Match
- TCU is coming off a 3-1 victory over Kansas.
-Freshman Julia Adams hit a career-best 23 kills to lead the team.
-It was the most kills by a Horned Frog this season and most since élan McCall hit 24 against Texas last season (Oct. 3, 2018).
-Adams collected her 23 kills on .500 hitting (23 kills, 42 attempts, two errors). Her best hitting percentage in a match with more than 10 attempts.
-She becomes the first TCU player to hit .500 with 20+ kills this season and first since McCall did so against WVU last season (Nov. 14, 2018).
-Adams also posted a career high in blocks, finishing with six.

-Freshman McKenzie Nichols polished off her sixth double-double and third in her last four matches: 46 assists and a career-high 15 digs.
-She has now posted three double-doubles in conference play with at least 40 assists, the second most in the conference.
-Sophomore élan McCall had her best match of the season, posting a season-best 14 kills on .267 hitting. She turned it on when it mattered most, posting six kills in the fourth set.
-Freshman Afedo Manyang was an offensive force in the middle, delivering eight kills to go with her three blocks.
-Junior Dani Dennison finished with 15 digs to lead the team, along with Nichols. Against Kansas this season, Dennison delivered 36 digs (5.14./set).
-This was the 14th consecutive sellout crowd inside The Rickel. Every home match of the season has been sold out. The attendance was 2,020, the 10th largest crowd in program history.
12-Carat Jewel
-Julia Adams exploded for a season-best 23 kills on .500 hitting with six blocks in her last match against Kansas.

-Her output earned her Big 12 offensive player and rookie of the week honors (Nov. 3-9). Becoming the first Big 12 OPOW this season for TCU and third ROW.

-She is the only freshman in the Big 12 to earn more than 25 points in a match this season.
Tough as Nalls
-Audrey Nalls leads all Big 12 freshman in kills per set (2.97) and points per set (3.51).
-She is ninth overall in the conference in kills per set and seventh points per set through 21 matches.
-Nalls has emerged as one of the great all-around talents in the Big 12. She is the only freshman in the Big 12 to be averaging 2.45+ kills/set, 2.00+ digs/set and 0.67+ blocks/set in conference matches
-At K-State, she tallied career-bests in aces (5), blocks (5.0) and digs (15), helping TCU set a Big 12 program record with 13 aces.
-She set a career-high in hitting percentage, collecting 13 kills on 23 attacks (.391 hitting percentage) against No. 6 Texas.
-Nalls has delivered at least eight kills in 18 of her 21 career college matches.
-She reached 200 career kills in just 61 sets, one of the fastest rates in program history, behind some familiar faces McCall (40 sets – 2018) and Jill Kramer (37 sets - 1996).
Nichols Drops Dimes
-Since taking over the setting duties before the Texas match, McKenzie Nichols has shown tremendous strides, setting a new career-best with 59 assists against Texas Tech (10/6) while tallying over 30 assists in seven of the last nine matches, including 40+ assists in three of her last four.
-She is averaging 10.3 assists/set since taking over primary duties.
-She earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors after dropping 91 assists over the course of eight sets (11.38 assists/set) at the start of the month (10/2-10/6).
-Her 59 assists against Tech were the sixth most assists by a freshman in a single match in program history, the most recorded by a freshman in the 25-point set, rally scoring era.
-Her 59 assists stand as the most by a setter in Big 12 play this season and is tied for the second-most assists in a single match by a Big 12 setter this season.
-She has posted five double-doubles in Big 12 play, second most in the conference by a setter. She tallied 40 or more assists in three of those performances, only Zerwas (WVU) has more 40+ assist double-doubles in Big 12 play this season.
