Reagor snags pair of touchdown passes in loss
AMES, Iowa – TCU dropped its Big 12 Conference road contest to Iowa State on Saturday, falling 49-24 at MidAmerican Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium.
TCU's Max Duggan and Jalen Reagor connected for a pair of second-half touchdowns. A Duggan third quarter 7-yard scoring toss to Reagor was preceded by a 42-yard strike on a 3rd-and-9 play to keep the drive alive.
Following a 5-yard touchdown run from Darius Anderson early in the fourth quarter, the second Duggan to Reagor scoring connection from 22 yards pulled TCU (3-2, 2-1) within 35-24 with 9:01 to play.
Duggan finished the game registering season-highs in completions (17) and passing yards (219). He had 196 yards passing in the second half. The true freshman from Council Bluffs, Iowa, now has nine touchdown passes on the season without an interception on 113 attempts.
Te'Vailance Hunt had career-highs with four receptions and 78 yards, including catches of 33 and 34 yards. Reagor had a season-best 69 yards receiving, while Sewo Olonilua was TCU's leading receiver with a career-best five catches.
The Cyclones (3-2, 1-1) took a 21-3 lead into halftime following a pair of touchdown passes from Brock Purdy and a defensive forced fumble that was returned for a score. TCU got on the board with a 37-yard field goal from Jonathan Song early in the second quarter.
UP NEXT
TCU has an open date next week and will be back in action the following Saturday, Oct. 19, on the road at Kansas State. The kickoff time will be announced Monday.
