Allkins led the Frogs
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Junior Thomas Allkins led the TCU men's golf team as he tied for 11th place at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational Sunday at the Golf Club of Georgia's Lakeside Course.
Allkins shot 1-over 73 in the final round to finish even-par 216 for the tournament, which will end up being one of the toughest this season with 12 of the 14 teams ranked in the top 34 in the country.
Freshman Mateo Fernández de Oliveira had TCU's best round of the day with a score of 2-under 70. He tied with sophomore Justin Gums for 46th place with an overall score of 7-over 223.
As a team, TCU shot even-par 288, 17 shots better than Saturday. The Frogs tied for 13th place with Virginia. No. 10 Duke (-2) won the tournament as the only team to shoot under par.
TCU has concluded its fall season and will not play again until Feb. 6-8 at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
