TCU Wins Pair of Jumping Seat Meets

Frogs start season 5-1
AUBURN, Ala. – The fifth-ranked TCU equestrian program took home a pair of victories in Jumping Seat action against Sweet Briar and SUNY New Paltz on Friday. The Horned Frogs opened the day with a 5-3 win over SBC and then went on to register a 7-1 victory against New Paltz in the afternoon session TCU picked up all four Most Outstanding Performer accolades that were awarded in the competition competition.

THE RUNDOWN
TCU opened the day earning a 2-2 split in Fences against the Sweet Briar Vixens.
Alex Beneson poster her first win and MOP honor of the season in Fences, earning an 85 on Jones. Raegan Rast notched TCU's other point with a score of 80 on Pilot.
The Frogs then took to Flat, where they pulled out a 3-1 win over SBC. Beneson, this week's TCU Student-Athlete of the Week winner, led the charge for TCU, posting a 90 on Changoo. The rest of the squad rallied behind her strong efforts with Wynne Weatherly's score of 88 and Misty Redd's score of. Beneson also claimed MOP honors in Flat.
Following the conclusion of the first meet, TCU was back in the saddle competing against New Paltz in Fences, with the Frogs earning a 4-0 victory over the. Izzy Baxter turned in an outstanding performance, registering an 85 on Bali, and earning her third MOP of the season. Grace Upshaw (74), Rast (77) and Weatherly (78) picked up TCU's remaining points in the event.
TCU then moved to Flat where it won the event by a score of 3-1. Baxter (86) and Weatherly (84 again teamed up to post highest scores in the event, with Baxter taking home MOP accolades for her performance. Lanie Walkenbach grabbed the third point for the Frogs in Flat with a 77-63 win on Changoo.
NOTES
* TCU improved to 5-1 overall on the season, the program's best start since the 2014-15 campaign.
* Alex Beneson took home both MOP's in Jumping Seat against Sweet Briar, the first to do so since Izzy Baxter won both events Oct. 5, 2018, against Texas A&M.
* Beneson registered a career high of 90 in Flat.
* Her score of 90 is the highest score recorded in competition by TCU this season.
* Izzy Baxter also garnered both MOP accolades against SUNY New Paltz.
* Today's action is the first time in program history TCU has had two individuals win both MOP's for different meets in the same day.
* Raegan Rast remains undefeated on the season with a record of 5-0.
