Rife Closes Regular Season At UTEP

Horned Frogs are 7-0 in PRC contests
FORT WORTH, Texas– The No. 1 ranked TCU Horned Frogs look to close out the regular season with a victory and perfect conference record on Saturday at UTEP.
Earlier this season TCU defeated UTEP by a score of 4,708-4,589 in Fort Worth. The Frogs are 7-0 in conference matches this season.
Heading into the match four of the top 12 performers in the country are Horned Frogs. Senior Rachel Garner paces the team with an aggregate average of 1,178.6, the third-best mark in the NCAA. Elizabeth Marsh owns the eighth-best average at 1,174.4 followed by Casey Lutz in ninth (1,174.3). Freshman Kristen Hemphill rounds out the group with a 1,173 average. TCU is one of two schools (WVU) with four members ranked in the top 12.
The Frogs lead the nation in the air rifle discipline with a team score of 2,375. They are led by Lutz, third nationally, who has fired a score of 595 or better in eight of her 10 matches this season. Garner also sits in fifth with an average of 594.3.
In smallbore, TCU owns the fourth best average, 2,325.5, and are paced by two of the top seven individual performers in the discipline. Garner, fifth nationally, is averaging a mark of 584.3. Marsh follows her in seventh with a of 582.7.
The UTEP Miners are led by Jessica Boyce (583.3) in air rifle and Morgahn Warner (570.1) in smallbore. This weekend's matchup will be their first match of the spring season as they haven't competed since a 4,674-4,583 loss to Air Force on Nov. 17.
The match will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the UTEP rifle range in El Paso, Texas.
