TCU Stopped by Florida State

The Horned Frogs could not overcome a strong blocking effort by the Seminoles.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The TCU volleyball team suffered its first loss in the 2018 season as they dropped a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-18) decision to Florida State on Friday afternoon to open competition at the Colorado State Tournament inside Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo.
The Horned Frogs (4-1) and the Seminoles (1-2) went point-for-point in every set, but blocking proved to be the difference as Florida State shut it down with 15.0 in the match to go along with a .361 hitting clip. TCU was held to its lowest hitting percentage of the season a .102 but held its own from the service line with seven in the match.
élan McCall continued to lead TCU offensively with her fifth straight double-digit kill match with 13 against the Seminoles. Anna Walsh chipped in six kills, while Sarah Swanson was able to record five kills. Berklie Baker recorded double-digit digs for the second straight match with the sophomore leading the defense with 13.

5 – élan McCall has now totaled double-digit kills in the first five straight matches of her career and is just two short of Head Coach Jill Kramer who holds the record with the first seven straight matches

-Tori Dilfer dished out 29 assists to lead the Frogs while also helping lead the team from the service line with two
-Berklie Baker recorded double-digit digs for the second straight match and sixth time in her career with 13
-The 13 digs by Baker also marked the first time leading the team defensively for the first time in her career
-Three different Frogs were able to record solo blocks in the match with Sarah Swanson, Sarah Langs and Ashley Waggle all getting the stuffs
