TCU hits the road to face Colorado State, Florida State and Cincinnati.
FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will hit the road for the first time in the 2018 season as they travel to Fort Collins, Colo., for the Colorado State Tournament where they will face the host Rams, Florida State and Cincinnati from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at Moby Arena.
The Horned Frogs (4-0) will begin the tournament against the Seminoles (1-1) on Friday at 4 p.m., CT, before taking on the Bearcats on Saturday at 6 p.m., CT. The tournament will wrap-up on Sunday against No. 25 Colorado State at 2:30 p.m., CT.

- The 2018 season marks the 23rd season in the history of the TCU Volleyball program

-Fellow middle blocker Sarah Swanson came out firing to begin her sophomore campaign with 3.15 kills per set, a .397 hitting clip and a team-best 1.00 blocks per set
-After spending 2017 behind two experienced setters, sophomore Tori Dilfer was put to work last weekend and is currently ranked second nationally with 13.23 assists per set
-Dilfer helped guide the offense to a Big 12-best .304 hitting clip and 15.92 kills per set

-The second weekend of action in 2018 will look very similar to what went down just one year ago as TCU faces Florida State and Colorado State
-Last fall, TCU and the Rams traveled to Tallahassee for a tournament as all three teams are together again this year in Fort Collins
-Next year, Florida State and Colorado State will come to Fort Worth to complete the three-year agreement
-So far in the series, Colorado State is undefeated after scoring both wins last year, Florida State is 1-1, while TCU is looking for its first wins in the series
Scouting the Opponent: Florida State
-Florida State is looking for its first win on the season after dropping matches to No. 9 Wisconsin and No. 4 Minnesota last week
-The Seminoles are led by their two outside hitters Christina Ambrose and Payton Caffrey who are both putting down 4.00 kills per set
-As a team, Florida State is picking up 19.57 digs per set with Kelsey Wicinski leading the way with 5.00 digs per set and Caffrey not far behind with 4.00 digs per set
-The setting duties are split between senior Brianna Burkert (7.14 assists/set) and Adrian Ell (4.43 assists/set) with the Seminoles putting down 13.29 kills per set
-Defensively at the net, Taryn Knuth has nine total blocks and 1.29 blocks per set with Ashley Murry as contributing 1.14 blocks per set
Scouting the Opponent: Cincinnati
-Cincinnati went 2-1 in its opening weekend with a five-set victory over UC Santa Barbara and a sweep of Saint Louis
-Jordan Thompson is pacing the offense for the Bearcats with 5.62 kills per set to go along with a .305 hitting clip and 2.00 digs per set
-Erica Kostelac is also putting down the kills with 2.38 kills per set while Maria Mallon has scored 1.77 kills per set
-Jade Tingelhoff has dished out 10.30 assists per set so far this season and has picked up 2.20 digs per set
Scouting the Opponent: Colorado state
-Colorado State is hosting a tournament for the second straight weekend after going 2-1 last week with wins over UNC Wilmington and Northern Colorado
-The offense is evenly distributed amongst four players with Breana Runnels leading the way with 3.18 kills per set
-Three other players are putting down at least 2.00 kills per set including Paulina Hougaard-Jensen (2.73 k/s), Kirstie Hillyer (2.36 k/s) and Jessica Jackson (2.00 k/s)
-Katie Oleksak is helping dish out the offense with 10.09 assists per set as the Rams are hitting .219 as a team with 12.18 kills per set
-Colorado State is the strongest serving team and blocking team in this weekend's action with 1.91 aces per set and 2.55 blocks per set

-Three sweeps and a four-set victory over North Dakota marked an undefeated opening weekend for TCU
-The Frogs won the Cowtown Classic in dominant fashion as they controlled all three victories to start the season 3-0 for the fourth straight year
