TCU's NCAA History
The NCAA began regional play in 1989 and TCU has qualified for a regional in every season since 1990. This is the first time the Horned Frogs will compete in California in postseason play. It will be the third time TCU has played in California this season. The Frogs played at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Classic Club (Palm Desert) and El Macero Country Club (El Macero).
Bill Montigel has served as the head coach for all 29 regional appearances. TCU, Clemson and UNLV are the only NCAA Division I teams to earn a regional bid each of the last 29 years under the same head coach. Only 15 programs have amassed the same streak with multiple head coaches.
TCU has advanced to the NCAA Championship 19 times, the last coming in 2016. In 2016, TCU finished second at the regional and tied for 14th at the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore. The Frogs' best finish at nationals was fourth in 1980.
