Earned All-Big 12 honors… Named PING All-Central Region Team… Earned a spot on the PING All-American Third Team... Named a one of 30 semifinalists for the Jack Nicklaus Award... Selected to compete for the international team at the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup... Led the Frogs in five of the 11 events he competed in... Shot at or under par in 25 of the 34 rounds played, which ranked fifth in school history... Shot 133 birdies, the ninth-most in school history... Played in 12 tournaments and recorded a scoring average of 73.78 ... had four top 20 finishes ... won the USF Olympic Invitational (Sept. 12-13, 2016) with a 3-under 210 ... had seven sub-70 rounds including a season-low 65 at the Amer Ari Invitational (Feb. 2-4, 2017) ... had a season-low 8-under 208 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate (Feb. 17-19, 2017)
2015-16 | FRESHMAN
Played in five tournament … posted a 75.60 scoring average … finished as high as a tie for 20th at the Amer Ari Invitational where he recorded a season-best 212 … also carded a low-round of 68 in the third round at the Amer Ari.
NOTEWORTHY
Played in the 2016 Open Championship at Royal Troon ... was one of just two amateurs to play in the major and the only current collegiate golfer in the field.
PRIOR TO TCU
Fired a final round 68 to claim a one stroke victory at the 2015 European Amateur Championship. Mazzoli posted a 19-under 269 at the Legend Course at Penati Golf Resort in Slovakia. Mazzoli is the second Italian winner since the championship began in 1986, and the first since Massimo Scarpa in 1992.
