TCU Sweeps Iowa State, 4-0

FORT WORTH, Texas - A dominant performance across singles and doubles led the TCU women's tennis team to its first Big 12 victory this season with a 4-0 sweep of Iowa State on Friday afternoon in Ames, Iowa.
Alexis Pereira and Donika Bashota started things off for the Horned Frogs (11-13, 1-7 Big 12) on court two of doubles with a 6-2 victory over the Cyclones (9-15, 0-8 Big 12). The pairing of Aleksa Cveticanin and Aleksandra Zenovka finished things off by scoring the 6-3 win on court three to give TCU the early lead.
Singles action was all TCU as the Frogs carried the momentum with No. 122 Zenovka finishing first with a 6-1, 6-4 on court four. Cveticanin and Marie Norris finished just moments later with straight-set wins of their own to finish out the sweep and give TCU the victory.

"The team was sharp again today and we are building confidence. Donika (Bashota) really came out on fire in both her singles and doubles. Marie (Norris) and Aleksa (Cveticanin) continue to look solid and it was nice for Aleksandra (Zenovka) to get back to her winning ways. Looks like we have West Virginia this Sunday and perhaps West Virginia again Thursday in the first round of the conference tournament. We would love to get to 13-13 on season and play most likely the No. 1 seed, perhaps Texas in quarterfinals of the tournament. We aren't going to take West Virginia lightly, but we are going to keep improving so that if we have the opportunity to beat Texas to get the NCAA required .500 record and high enough ranking to make NCAAs, we are prepared and we do it. We can't waste a minute between now and then. We have to keep improving and keep building confidence so we are ready to seize that moment if it presents itself."
