TCU Suffers Loss to No. 9 Oklahoma

TCU (3-4, 1-3 Big 12) trailed 28-7 with 8:19 remaining in the second quarter when sophomore quarterback Mike Collins entered the game. In two short drives, Collins threw for two touchdown passes, one for 41 yards to senior wide receiver KaVontae Turpin and another for 33 yards to sophomore wideout Jalen Reagor. It was Turpin's second touchdown of the game after a 99-yard kickoff return in the first quarter, which extended his school record to six career special teams touchdowns.
Collin's two touchdown tosses came on back-to-back passes in the second quarter to bring TCU to within seven points, 28-21.
A 41-yard field goal by Cole Bunce at the end of the first half brought TCU's deficit to four points, 28-24, at the break. Bunce hit another 41-yard field goal in the third quarter and was 2-of-3 in the game.
Oklahoma outscored TCU 24-3 in the second half and prevented a loss in back-to-back regular season games since Oct. 2 and 9, 1999.
Senior defensive end Ty Summers led the Frogs with a season-high 10 tackles. Senior safety Markell Simmons had a career-high nine tackles.
Turpin led TCU with 212 all-purpose yards and became the first Horned Frog with kickoff return and receiving touchdowns in the same game since Cory Rodgers in 2005.
