TCU Drops Road Game at Kansas

Making his first career start, sophomore quarterback Mike Collins ran for a pair of touchdowns and threw for another, finishing 23-for-33 for 351 yards.
Fellow classmate Jalen Reagor was the recipient of eight of those passes, resulting in a career-high 177 yards, including a 56-yard scoring grab in the second quarter.
The home team got on the scoreboard first, as Kansas took the opening kickoff and drove 75 yards on 11 plays to take a 7-0 lead on a 1-yard rush by Khalil Herbert.
The Frogs bounced back to take the lead in the second quarter when Jonathan Song made a 31-yard field goal and Collins found Reagor down the middle of the field for a 56-yard touchdown pass that made it a 10-7 game at the half.
Kansas regained the advantage midway through the third quarter when Peyton Bender scrambled away from the TCU rush and found Pooka Williams in the end zone for a 7-yard score.
The see-saw battle continued on the following drive when Collins dropped a perfect pass to Reagor down the left sideline for a 40-yard grab to set up a 2-yard quarterback keeper that put TCU back on top, 17-14.
That lead was short-lived, however, as Kansas answered immediately with a 34-yard field goal to tie the contest.
Just two plays into TCU's ensuing drive, an interception at the 15-yard line set up another field goal, this one from 27 yards out, to put the Jayhawks ahead, 20-17.
Moments later, Collins scampered in from the 3-yard line for his second rushing TD of the day, capping an 11-play, 75-yard drive that gave the Horned Frogs a four-point advantage with 10:38 left.
Bender responded with his second touchdown pass of the contest to move the Jayhawks back in front with just over six minutes remaining.
The Horned Frogs seemed to be in good shape as they took the ball back and drove down to the Kansas 7-yard line before a fumble dashed their hopes of a comeback.
Following the fumble, the Jayhawks rushed three times then took a safety on fourth down with one second left on the clock to account for the game's final score.
Ben Banogu led a strong defensive effort for TCU, recording eight tackles, including a career-high 4.5 TFLs and a pair of sacks. Jawuan Johnson and Arico Evans paced the Frogs with 10 stops each.
