TCU Opens Strong at The Dickson

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The No. 27 TCU women's golf team shot a second round 2-under-par 286 and is seventh after Monday's opening 36 holes of The Dickson.
The 286 tied for the 14th-best round in program history. With a 2-over 578, TCU is just three strokes behind third place and 10th-ranked Kent State. No. 3 Florida State leads at 22-under 554.
Emmy Martin, with three straight top-10 finishes, is the top Horned Frog as she's tied for 18th individually after carding a pair of even-par 72s for a 144. The junior from Odessa, Fla., totaled three birdies while shooting par on 30 of 36 holes.
Annika Clark and Brooke Graebe are both tied for 20th at 1-over 145 for the Horned Frogs.
Clark had three birdies in a seven-hole stretch of the second round after posting back-to-back birdies on the front nine of the first round. Graebe totaled four birdies on the day.
TCU's Kelly McGovern and Brooke McDougald are both natives of The Woodlands and playing on their home course at The Woodlands Country Club.
McGovern had three birdies en route to a 1-under 71 in round two. She tied Clark and McDougald with a team-best five birdies on the day. McDougald recorded three consecutive birdies on the front nine of the second round.
Florida State's Morgane Metraux and Texas A&M's Maddie Szeryk are the individual leaders at 9-under 135.
