The Rundown
TCU and Texas Tech put forth a spirted battle on the field. Both teams had their chances, but couldn't capitalize in regulation.
The Frogs wasted little time ending the game in the first overtime session. Ryan Williams carried the ball down the far sideline before feeding it to Yazmeen Ryan deep in the attacking zone. Ryan beat her defender and crossed to a wide-open Kayla Hill, who tapped in the game winner.
In the first half, TCU drew eight corners and outshot Texas Tech, 10-3. TCU forced the Red Raider goalkeeper to make to saves in the period, while the Frogs saw a pair of headers go just wide of the goal.
In the second half, the shots were dead-even at six apiece, but it was the Red Raiders that had the better of the chances. Katie Lund came up with three huge stops on shots in tight to keep the game scoreless.
