AUSTIN, Texas – Karitas Tomasdottir cleaned up a bouncing ball in the six-yard box with her fourth goal of the season to help propel TCU to a 1-1 tie at No. 7 Texas Friday night. Katie Lund made four saves in the game.
The Rundown
With just under six minutes to go in regulation, Texas was whistled for a foul. Tijana Djuricek took the free kick and set a pass inside the six-yard box. A fumble by the goalkeeper allowed the ball to bounce around. Karitas Tomasdottir cleaned up the ball and fired it into the net to tie the game with 5:38 remaining.
TCU outshot Texas 8-7 in the first half, but it was the Longhorns that went to the half with a 1-0 lead. Kayra Dollas headed in Texas' fifth corner kick of the game in the 36th minute to give the Longhorns the lead.
The Horned Frogs weathered a Texas storm in the second half as the Longhorns fired off nine shots. Katie Lund stopped the only shot that found its way on goal in the second, setting up Tomasdottir's late-game heroics.
Neither overtime produced much in way of offense. TCU took the only two shots in the extra 20 minutes of play, but neither found their way on goal.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game:
"We showed some character, some fight and some resiliency in the second half to come back and do what we did. I'm very proud of our group and happy coming away with a point on the road, which is important against a very quality opponent in Texas."
On the last two road games:
"You want to make sure you take care of home field and get wins. On the road, you have to be smart and come away with at least a point. If you come steal one on the road, that's big. We want to go into these games trying to win them, but at least coming away with a point. The past two weekends have been good for us on the road and hopefully that continues."
How playing tight games will benefit the team going forward:
"All these things, when you're tested, when it's close in a hostile environment are helpful when you get into postseason play. We've dealt with a lot of different real-life soccer. You have to show some character and some fight."
