
TCU Set to Host Loaded Field at Colonial

FORT WORTH -- TCU will be the host team when college golf's finest converge on Colonial Country Club for the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational, beginning on Sunday morning.
The 15-team field will play 54 holes over Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The tournament is the third annual Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational and features seven of the nation's top 10 teams.
TCU will feature a young lineup as senior Chelso Barrett is the lone upper classmen on the roster. The Horned Frog lineup will also feature sophomore Stefano Mazzoli, who won at The Olympic Club two weeks ago. Sophomore Southlake, Texas, native Triston Fisher, sophomore Wichita Falls, Texas, native Jason Fitzgerald and true freshman Jeong Weon Ko will round out the TCU lineup.
How to Follow
The event is open to the public and free of charge. Teams will play 18-holes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The tournament begins with a 7:45 a.m. CT shotgun start on Sunday. Rounds on Monday and Tuesday will tee off at 8:00 a.m. CT and 7:30 a.m. CT, respectively, from holes No. 1 and No. 10.

The Course
Colonial Country Club, just steps from TCU's campus, plays as a 7,209 yard par-70 course. The Dean & DeLuca Invitational, the longest running non-major PGA Tour event held at the same site, is played every May at Colonial Country Club. The course has also hosted the 1941 U.S. Open and the 1991 U.S. Women's Open.
"We are very excited to partner with Nike Golf again this year and host the 2016 Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at Colonial," Colonial member and tournament chairman Chris Kenney said. "It is a great opportunity to provide the collegiate player with a PGA Tour-like experience, and we expect many of them will return to play in the Dean & DeLuca Invitational in the years to come."
The Field
The 15-team field features seven teams in the Golfweek Coaches Poll top 10, including No. 1 Texas, No. 2 USC and No. 5 Vanderbilt from the top five. The field also included defending national champion Oregon, and three of the world's top five amateurs in No. 1 Mav McNealy of Stanford, No. 2 Sam Horsfield of Florida and No. 5 Mathias Schwab of Vanderbilt.

Last Time Out
The Frogs last played over two weeks ago at the USF Olympic Invitational at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. TCU finished third in the 14-team tournament thanks to improving scores in each round that culminated in a tournament 1-over 285 in the final round.
Stefano Mazzoli took individual honors in the tournament thanks in large part to a second-round 66 that led to a 3-under 210 for the tournament. The win was the first of Mazzoli's TCU career.

Chelso Barrett (Sr.) -- Finished in top 12 in each of first two tournaments; Four of six rounds this season have been under par; 2016 PING All-America Honorable Mention; finished 13th at 2016 NCAA Championships
Triston Fisher (So.) -- Made his first appearance of the year in the USF Olympic Invitational; shot a career-low 69 in the final round; his previous career-lows were a pair of 71s at last season's Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational
Jason Fitzgerald (So.) -- Will be playing in his first tournament this season; played in three tournament as freshman in 2015-16 with a 76.67 stroke average
Jeong Weon Ko (Fr.) -- Played in the season-opening Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach, carding a 7-over 223 to finish in 43rd place; 2015 French Amateur Champion; played in 2016 European Amateur
Stefano Mazzoli (So.) -- Won USF Olympic Invitational with a 3-under 210 at The Olympic Club; First career win; Career-low 66 in second round at Olympic Club; played in 2016 Open Championship (British Open); was only current college player in Open Championship field
