
McGhee, Smith Earn All-America Honors at NCAAs

EUGENE, Ore. -- Senior Brianna McGhee placed 12th in the 100-meter hurdle semifinals, and senior Megan Smith placed 14th in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. on Thursday.
The Omaha, Neb. native clocked in at 13.13, tying for fourth in the first heat with Arkansas' Payton Stumbaugh. Placing in the top 16, McGhee earned Second Team All-American\ honors with her recent performance. She also took home All-America recognition in the 60-meter hurdles in the indoor season.
Also earning Second-Team All-America honors was senior Megan Smith in the shot put. Smith logged a 14th-place finish with a mark of 53 feet 6.25 inches (16.31 meters).
The Horned Frogs will return to Hayward Field on Friday with Adam Damadzic in the discus (7:05 p.m.), Scotty Newton in the triple jump (7:30 p.m.), and the men's 4x100-meter relay at 7:32 p.m. CT.
