Frogs Sweep Hammer on First Day at UTSA

Freshman Fellan McGuigan broke his own school record in the event with a first-place mark of 62.66m (205-07), topping his previous best of 61.31m set last week.
Heading into the final attempt in the women's hammer throw, junior Paola Miranda found herself in second place behind Texas A&M's Alison Ondrusek. Miranda saved her best throw for last as she recorded a mark of 59.01m (193-07), placing first and completing the sweep for TCU.
In the women's shot put, senior Megan Smith placed second with a mark of 16.47m (54-00.50). Last week, Smith broke a 23-year-old program record in the shot put.
The Horned Frogs will return to action in San Antonio at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the men's and women's long jumps. Running events will begin at 2:40 p.m. with the women's 4x100 relay. Live results will be available here: Ricardo Romo Invitational Results.
