Postgame Quotes

Head Coach Raegan Pebley
Opening Statement
"Great opportunity for our team in postseason to be able to advance and we are going to host as well. The postseason is really about matchups and we were really concerned about these matchups. Seeds don't matter, it's matchups and they've got incredible shooters. Our preparation was difficult really deciding how we were going to play this team. I don't think we really stopped them. They scored 73 points, we were just able to score ourselves. With such a short turnaround... really one day of preparation and it's going to come down to what your team's habits are. You don't have that much time to prep, so you've got to set your team up to play with instincts.
On the last time versus UTRGV and tonight
"The last time we played them... we were down three players. That really affected our defense, affected our offense, we weren't at the point of the season where we really had thick enough skin yet and tough enough to be able to handle that adversity. I think the difference is that we were healthy and all teams get better. They've gotten better, we've gotten better."
On the 17-5 run at the end of the first quarter
"We adjusted our press a little bit and I think that helped us. We were able to cover some of the areas of the floor that they were trying to capitalize off of. In the second half they went on a run as well. We weren't getting those consecutive stops. I don't think either team stopped each other today. Both teams found the bucket with ease."
On AJ Alix
"She started off the game not very defensively sound and we took her out and she really reset herself, refocused and got on to the next play and really cleaned things up defensively. "
