TCU Women's Basketball vs. Kansas
Postgame Quotes
Feb. 29, 2016
Fort Worth Texas; Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena
TCU Coach Raegan Pebley
Opening Statement
"Literally praise God for that win. I know he doesn't get credit enough. I'm just so grateful for it because these seniors have really committed a lot and they've shown such toughness and resilience going through coaching change, conference change, and mistakes they've made themselves. They just kept getting back up. This game was probably a lot like their careers here. They just had to grind it, and toughen it out. It was great to see seniors contribute - in that fourth quarter- the way that they did. Kansas played so well, and we've known they've been playing well for a while. They've taken great teams into the fourth quarter with leads. We did everything we could to get even the points that we got."
On offense in the game
"They've gone through a lot in the last 48 hours, they've gone through a lot in their careers. This place means so much to them so I think there were emotions. Kansas played very good defense and they deserve a lot of credit for the way they played." "I don't know that the offense ever got rolling. We were able to get some scores out of our defense, we were able to build some momentum and energy because of our defense with a few steals and important stops. We also got some presence inside from our posts, and we needed that terribly."
Going into the postseason
"You have to use the regular season to define you. Everyone is 0-0. Everyone has new life and we've got to recover, rest, and we will see this team again really quickly."
Seeing Kansas in the first round
"We are going to have to look at film first. I think we've got to continue to try to create more of a post presence inside."
