FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU women's tennis team is set to head to the Hurd Tennis Center on the campus of Baylor in Waco, Texas to compete in the ITA Texas Regional Championships Presented by Oracle from Oct. 20-24.
The Horned Frogs will compete against 17 institutions across the state, including host Baylor and Abilene Christian, Lamar, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas, Texas State, Texas Tech, Incarnate Word, UNT, UT-Arlington and UTSA.
A total of 114 singles and 52 doubles entries will battle for qualification to the upcoming ITA National Intercollegiate Championship that will run from Nov. 3-6 in New York. All eight TCU women's tennis student-athletes will take part in the tournament with the No. 18 pair of Seda Arantekin and Caroline Wegner earning the top seed in doubles while Olaya Garrido-Rivas and Donika Bashota are the No. 9 seeded pair. Bashota (No. 4) and Arantekin (No. 10) also earned seeds in the singles portion of the draw and earned first round byes.
