On the Big 12 Championships
"We are officially in the postseason, the Big 12 Championships. One key is hopefully the weather is fine in Iowa. Which, going north into the midwest, you never know what the weather is going to be at this time of year, it could be hit or miss. Hopefully, it works out and it's good up there and we can get some things done.
"The mission is the same as it always is for Big 12. Obviously, we want to do the best we can do and win as many individual Big 12 titles as we can. I think we have a few kids that have opportunities in front of them to win Big 12 titles, but when you get to the postseason, nothing comes easy. We're going to go in here and compete at the highest level that we can compete at and use this as a stepping-stone to get us ready for regionals and nationals, as we've done all the time."
Last Time Out
In their final home meet of the season, the Horned Frogs tallied five event wins, spring boarding them into postseason play. Junior Ronnie Baker set another wind-legal PR in the 100 meters behind a time of 10.08. Senior Ramone Bailey and sophomore Cameron Echols-Luper went 1-2 in the long jump, as Bailey set a PR at 7.80m (25-7.25) and Echols-Luper recorded an outdoor best of 7.73m (25-4.5). The trio also joined sophomore Kolby Listenbee and put together a time of 39.18 to win the 4x100 relay, the second-fastest time for the Horned Frogs this season. In the 400 hurdles, senior Lavon Collins also grabbed a win, clocking in at 52.03. Collins and Listenbee would also team up with senior Joshua Washington and freshman Kevin McClanahan to claim the men's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:07.41. Junior Brianna McGhee recorded a second-place finish in the women's 100 hurdles at 13.36, smashing her previous PR of 13.82. Also finishing second was sophomore Paola Miranda in the women's hammer throw at 57.59m (188-11). Two other Horned Frogs who set personal-bests were sophomores Iphona-Clemence Paiement (women's 100 meters) and Anna Robinson (women's long jump) with marks of 11.59 and 5.97m (19-7), respectively.
Into the Rankings
The TCU men's squad is ranked No. 16 for back-to-back weeks in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings. It's the highest ranking for the Horned Frogs this outdoor season. The 2015 indoor campaign resulted in a seventh-place team finish for the men's team after scoring in all four events the Horned Frogs competed in at the NCAA Indoor Championships, including Ronnie Baker's 60-meter win.
Big 12 History
In less than three years in the league, the Horned Frogs have already racked up 10 individual Big 12 titles. Chaniqua Corinealdi became the first Frog in any sport to win a Big 12 championship, after she claimed the 60-meter crown at the 2013 Indoor meet. Ten minutes later, Charles Silmon grabbed the men's 60-meter title, making TCU the fifth school in conference history to sweep the 60-meter dash event. It would be the first of four Big 12 championships Silmon would win, as he would take three at the 2013 Outdoor meet. In a span of three hours, Silmon claimed the 100 and 200 meters, as well as the 4x100 relay with Harvey McSwain, Ronnie Baker and Raymond Bozmans. Also winning a title at the meet was Cameron Parker in the men's triple jump. At the 2014 Indoor meet, the Horned Frogs won two championships thanks to Lorraine Ugen (women's long jump) and Jordan Moore (60 hurdles). Moore followed his performance by winning the 110 hurdles at the 2014 Outdoor meet, becoming the fifth student-athlete to win both in the same year. At this year's Indoor meet, Cameron Echols-Luper claimed the lone title for the Horned Frogs in the men's long jump.

The Best of the West
The Horned Frogs have five student-athletes ranked in the top 48 in the 100-meter dash on the NCAA West Qualifying list. It's the most of any university and four of the five rank in the top 50 overall among both the West and East regions. Ronnie Baker leads the way with a time of 10.02, ranking sixth. Kolby Listenbee and Sam Watts posted times of 10.27 and 10.32, respectively. Ramone Bailey and Raymond Bozmans follow closely behind at 10.43 and 10.45.
Who's Next?
TCU's rich history in the sprints division has produced seven athletes to have posted a time under 10 seconds in the 100-meter dash, the most of any university. The Horned Frogs look to bolster their lead on the rest of the pack this season, and almost added No. 8 with Baker's performance at the Texas Relays on March 28. Baker, the 2015 NCAA 60-meter Champion, recorded a wind-aided mark of 10.02 in the invitational section of the event, which was an all-conditions personal-best and was the fourth-best time in program history. Four other Horned Frogs who are on the doorstep of accomplishing the feat are sophomores Kolby Listenbee (10.12), Sam Watts (10.32) and Raymond Bozmans (10.42) and senior Ramone Bailey (10.43).
Knock Knock Knockin' on 38's Door
In only their second meet of the season, the men's 4x100 relay team posted a time of 39.15 seconds in Austin at the Texas Relays. It's the fastest time since the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships, when the Horned Frogs put up the same mark in the prelims to finish sixth and qualify for the finals. The mark moves them closer to TCU's all-time top 10 in the event, which starts at 38.80 set in 1991. The No. 1 time in TCU history is also the collegiate record, set in 1998, at a time of 38.04 seconds.
Cornering The Market
The Horned Frogs have earned four victories in the men's long jump this season by three different student-athletes. In the first outdoor meet of 2015, freshman Scotty Newton recorded the win at the rainy TCU Invitational. At the Texas Relays, senior Ramone Bailey flew to a victory with his top jump coming in at 7.39m (24-3). At the Michael Johnson Classic, the reigning Big 12 Indoor Long Jump Champion Cameron Echols-Luper notched a mark of 7.44m (24-5) in his first outdoor meet of the year to grab TCU's third win in the event. In their final home meet of the season, Bailey and Echols-Luper went 1-2 in the event at 7.80m (25-7.25) and 7.73m (25-4.5), respectively.
Etched In History
Miranda is the latest Horned Frog to rewrite the TCU record books, crushing the previous best in the women's hammer throw by over 18 feet. Her toss of 59.39m (194-10) topped Kelsey Samuels' mark set in 2013 53.85m (176-8) and earned her first at the TCU Invitational on March 19.
Ronnie Baker set the standard on the biggest state of the indoor season, at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the men's 60 meters with a time of 6.52 seconds. His NCAA championship time broke Kim Collins' record set on March 10, 2000, also in Fayetteville.
The first school record to fall in 2015 came in the women's distance medley relay at the Tyson Invitational. The team of Bailey Sullivan, Tiffany Terry, Anna Cozart and Arin Rice (three freshman and a sophomore), paced to a time of 11:42.32, almost eight seconds faster than the previous record set in 2001.
