No. 4 TCU Falls to Fresno State and Georgia

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 4 TCU claimed three MOP accolades over the weekend, but lost to No. 6 Fresno State and No. 2 Georgia on consecutive days.
Against Fresno, the Horned Frogs battled the Bulldogs to a 9-9 draw, but lost by an overall raw score of 1,576.75-1,570.75. On the day, Emelie Burgess, Molly Peddicord and Shelby St. Hilaire all posted MOP honors in their respective disciplines.
TCU made quick work of Fresno State in Reining, defeating FSU to the tune of 4-1. St. Hilaire led the way, scoring a 71.5-69.5 decision to Ally Frias. With the win, the junior improved to 5-3-1 on the year and recorded her second MOP of the season. Alexi Child and Katelyn Gray were also victorious, dropping Kirsten McKillop and Clara Koziowski, respectively. Brooke Boyle rounded out the Horned Frog notables, upending Brigid O'Leary, 68.5-67.
In Horsemanship, Megan McMullen and Erin Gillette appeared to have scored a point for TCU, but ended up battling Sydney Elliot and Taylor Dixon to a tie.
On the Hunt Seat side, Peddicord dropped Sierra Swaffer in Equitation over Fences, 85-65, en route to her second MOP of the season. Carley Barnett and Jayme Omand posted victories over Kylina Chalack and Paige Pastorino, respectively.
In Equitation on the Flat, Burgess road Sailor to a 90-88 victory over Swaffer. With the win, Burgess recorded her first win of the season. Senior Kaitlin Perry was the only other Frog to score a point in the discipline, defeating Genna Fogelberg, 83-79.
Against No. 2 Georgia, TCU put up a solid fight, but ended up falling 10-5 to UGA in Fresno.
On the Western side, Gray moved to 2-0 on the weekend in Reining with a 70.5-69.5 victory over Charley Thiel. Junior Chantz Stewart was the only other Frog to score a point, upending Lauren Tieche, 69.5-69.
In Horsemanship, McMullen remained undefeated on the weekend with a 72-71.5 dismantling of Paige Stawicki. Colby Plott tried to score a point for the Purple and White, but rode Jet to a 75.5-75.5 tie.
Perry rounded out the TCU notables against Georgia, scoring a point in both Equitation on the Flat and over Fences. On the Flat, the senior defeated Meg O'Mara, 92-76. The California native came back to drop Leylan Gleeson over Fences, 77-68.
The Horned Frogs will have a couple of weeks off before hosting the 2015 Big 12 Championship March 27-28 in Springtown.
