Alex Young turned in another quality start for the Frogs in allowing a run on three hits in six innings of work. He issued two walks and fanned four. The lefty retired the final nine batters he faced. Brian Trieglaff allowed a hit and a walk in his lone inning of work, while Ryan Burnett pitched around a lead-off double in the eighth with a pair of strikeouts, and Preston Guillory pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
Two walks around a Connor Wanhanen base hit loaded the bases for TCU in the first inning. Baylor looked poised to get out of the jam with a couple of infield flies, but Keaton Jones came through with a two-out, two-run single to left to put the Frogs on top.
With one swing of the bat, Jeremie Fagnan added to the Frog lead. Fagnan's first home run of the season led off the second, pushing TCU's lead to 3-0.
TCU broke the game open in the third inning by putting up a six-spot. Garrett Crain drew a lead-off walk to start a string of seven straight to reach. Fagnan drove in the first run of the inning with a single, and Dane Steinhagen followed with a two-run single to make it 6-0. Cody Jones ripped an RBI-double down the left field line, and Wanhanen capped off the scoring with a two-run single for a 9-0 lead.
Baylor's lone run of the game came in the fourth as the first three Bear hitters reached in the frame. Aaron Dodson worked a lead-off walk. He was standing on second and scored easily on a Matt Menard base hit to make it a 9-1 game. Young settled down and retired the next three batters to limit the damage.
Evan Skoug launched his third home run of the season to lead off the sixth, restoring TCU's nine-run lead, 10-1.
TCU improves to 14-2 on the season and 3-0 in Big 12 play. TCU will continue its season-long 12-game homestand Tuesday and Wednesday with a two-game midweek series against UT-Pan American. Both contests will start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday's game will be televised on FSSW.
