TCU Closes Strong at Southern Highlands

The Horned Frogs carded a 2-under 286 on the final trip through the Southern Highlands Golf Course, marking its lowest score at the tournament since also firing a 286 in 2003.
Senior Julien Brun led the charge, following up his 71 in the previous round with a 2-under 70 to finish 23rd overall, ahead of 17 competitors ranked among the top 100 nationally. The Antibes, France, native caught fire on the front nine, rolling in four birdies on the six holes before the turn. Brun played a clean back nine until a double bogey on the par-4 7th, but regrouped with a birdie on the final hole.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett bounced back from a tough second round with a 1-under 71, marking his 12th round of par or better this season. The Keene, N.H., native rolled in three birdies with just one miscue on the back nine, including a birdie on the final hole.
Junior Paul Barjon also bounced back from a rough outing in Tuesday's second round with an even-par 72, which was also his 12th round of par or better this season. After a double bogey on the first hole of the back nine, Barjon would go to play a clean round with three birdies.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara birdied the final two holes of the afternoon to card a 1-over 73, while senior Andrew Presley rounded out the scoring with a 4-over 76.
The Frogs return to action on March 26 at The Goodwin in Stanford, Calif.
