Brun's Career Day Lifts TCU to Top-Five Showing

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Senior Julien Brun led five Horned Frogs under par with an 8-under 64 on Saturday as the TCU men's golf team climbed four spots to close play with a fifth-place finish at the Amer Ari Invitational at Waikoloa Kings' Course.
The Horned Frogs locked up their third top-five finish of the season by posting the day's second-lowest round with a 20-under 268, placing just six strokes shy of the tournament champion, Arizona State. TCU finished ahead of five top-25 squads.
Brun matched his career low of 64 set at the 2013 NCAA Championship to finish 11th, going 9-under over 11 holes, including an eagle on the par-5 18th.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett carded his second 67 of the tournament, matching the second-lowest round of his career, to finish with an 8-under 208 for 18th overall. Barrett rolled in six birdies with only one blemish on the day.
Fellow sophomore Giulio Castagnara fired a career-low 5-under 67 to finish 2-under for the tournament. The Pordenone, Italy, native bogeyed his second hole before posting six birdies with no miscues over the remainder of the round.
Junior Paul Barjon earned his second top-15 finish of the season with a 1-under 71 to finish 9-under for the tournament, while senior Andrew Presley registered a 2-under 70 in Saturday's final round.
The Frogs return to action on Feb. 20 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif.
