
TCU Posts Solid First Round in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. - The TCU men's golf team opened competition at the National Invitational Tournament on Saturday with a 1-over 289 to place fourth overall at the Catalina Course.
The Horned Frogs enter Sunday's second round just six strokes behind the tournament leader, New Mexico State.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara and junior Paul Barjon led TCU in the opening round with 1-under 71's to place in 10th overall, three strokes off the tournament leader. Castagnara rolled in three birdies with just one miscue on the afternoon while Barjon continued his stellar play with his seventh-straight round of par or better.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett posted a 1-over 73 to sit in 24th overall while senior Julien Brun put together a solid round but ran into trouble on the final hole for a 2-over 74. Senior Andrew Presley rounded out the scoring with a 78.
