
TCU Jumps into Second at Desert Intercollegiate

PALM DESERT, Calif. - The TCU men's golf team fired the second-lowest round of the day to move into second place in Saturday's second round at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at The Classic Club.
Led by junior Paul Barjon's 4-under round of 68, the Horned Frogs moved three spots with a 5-under 283, and sit nine strokes behind the tournament leader, No. 15 Texas Tech.
Barjon fired the second-lowest round of the afternoon and enters Sunday's final round six strokes behind the tournament leader, Texas Tech's Clement Sordet. Barjon racked up five birdies and one eagle and closed his round with a birdie on the par-5 ninth hole.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett carded his team-best eighth round under par this season with a 2-under 70 to move into the top 15. The Keene, N.H., native put together a flawless back nine with three birdies.
Senior Andrew Presley bounced back from a tough first round with a 1-under 71, while fellow senior Julien Brun carded a 2-over 74 and sits at 22nd overall.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara birdied the final hole of his round for a 2-over 74 following his opening-round 71 and remains in the top 20 heading into Sunday's final round.
