Head Coach David Roditi
"It has been an exciting fall season for the all three players on our current roster playing in ATP professional tournaments. One of our goals as coaches here at TCU is to prepare our players for life on the ATP Tour. We currently have five players on the roster with singles ATP points and we want players to know that we are serious when it comes to helping them embark on their careers in professional tennis.
"Cameron Norrie won his first professional event in Mansfield, Texas with wins over several top-400 players, including No. 230 Liam Broady and No. 330 Stefan Kozlov. Guillermo Nuñez has one singles title under his belt and he reached another quarterfinal in the USA Waco Futures event. Incoming freshman Alex Rybakov has also made some waves on the clay courts of Florida posting back-to-back finals appearances in USA Futures 32 and 33. Alex will be joining us in January and will be the highest ranked Horned Frog at No. 606."
Cameron Norrie
2015 was a highly successful fall for Norrie who won his first championship title in the collegiate world, while also claiming his first professional tournament title. After winning the Oracle/ITA Masters in September, Norrie continued his undefeated streak into the professional world where he won seven straight matches to win the Futures of Mansfield.
Since May, Norrie has advanced to the round of 16 and quarterfinals in two professional tournaments, while making the semifinals and finals in one. The Auckland, New Zealand native will finish the year ranked No. 712.
Guillermo Nuñez
Nuñez also competed in the Oracle/ITA Masters and was able to qualify for the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships after a quarterfinal appearance in the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championship. Nuñez took that success into the professional tournaments, as he was able to make the quarterfinals of the USA F34 Futures event in Waco in November.
The Santiago, Chile native will finish out the year ranked No. 1424 in the ATP rankings.
Alex Rybakov
Incoming freshman Alex Rybakov has been hot on the professional circuit throughout the fall and has made appearances in two finals in singles, along with five semifinal appearances. Rybakov has also competed in two majors in the juniors brackets, with an appearance in the Round of 32 at the French Open and an advancement to the quarterfinals at the US Open.
Rybakov has been clutch on clay courts this fall, with the Coral Springs, Fla., native advancing to two straight finals at the USA F33 Futures in Pensacola, Fla., and the USA F32 Futures in Niceville, Fla. Since May, the January enrollee has also advanced to the semifinals at the Canada F7 Futures in Winnipeg, the USA F18 Futures in Rochester, N.Y., and the Spain F14 Futures in Vic, Spain.
