
TCU Closes Play at Big 12 Championship

AUSTIN, Texas -- Sanna Nuutinen's 73 led TCU to its best round of the weekend as play concluded Sunday at the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship.
The Horned Frogs shot a 301 and finished ninth. TCU will learn Monday if it's selected for a 19th-consecutive NCAA postseason appearance.
Nuutinen shot par on the back nine and totaled three birdies on the day. TCU's lone senior, Nuutinen tied for 12th individually with a 6-over-par 222. It was the 20th top-20 finish for the Helsinki, Finland, native.
April McCoy and Maria Maymon added a 74 and 75, respectively, for the Horned Frogs.
McCoy recorded three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the front nine with a total of four birdies on the day. Maymon had two birdies in her opening five holes.
Chaney Uhles posted two birdies for TCU en route to a 79.
No. 7 Oklahoma captured the team title with the Sooners' Chirapat Jao-Javanil taking medalist honors.
