McGovern Leads TCU in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Kelly McGovern's 71 led TCU in Monday's second-round play as the Horned Frogs moved into 12th place at the Alamo Invitational.
McGovern birdied two of her opening four holes and totaled three birdies on the day. A sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas, McGovern is tied for 30th individually at 3-over-par 147.
TCU freshman Emmy Martin is tied for 10th with a 36-hole score of 2-under 142. She shot a 73 Monday, including a pair of birdies while recording par on 13 holes.
Alexandra Bonetti and Chaney Uhles added a 76 and 79, respectively, for the Horned Frogs. Kortnie Maxoutopoulis birdied consecutive holes on the front nine.
TCU shot an 11-over 299 on Monday.
At 563, No. 23 LSU has a 4-stroke lead over No. 7 Arkansas in the team standings. Individually, the Tigers' Caroline Nistrup is at 8-under 136 and holds a 3-stroke lead.
