Women's Tennis Closes Fall Season

HOUSTON - TCU's women's tennis team closed the fall portion of its schedule Sunday at the Tennis Express Houston Open at the University of Houston.
Seniors Federica Denti and Kelsey Sundaram, as well as walk-ons Paulina Blanc and Megan Ziots competed for the Horned Frogs in the event, which featured multiple singles and doubles draws.
Sundaram won her first-round match in the Carl Lewis singles draw, claiming a 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 triumph over Jessica Kahts of Texas State. Denti claimed a 6-1, 6-1 win over Oregon's Sofia Hager in her first-round match in the Andre Ware bracket.
The senior duo also picked up a win in doubles, an 8-0 triumph at the expense of Texas State's Melissa Hadad and Mariana Perez. Blanc and Ziots saw their first action of the season for the Frogs, playing in both singles and doubles.
TCU opens the spring season Jan. 27 against Nicholls State and Sam Houston State.
