POST-GAME QUOTES
TCU 79, NC State 85
Daniel-Meyer Coliseum
Attendance: 2,630
TCU Head Coach Jeff Mittie
On his team's performance in the second half:
"In the second half they were very committed to getting the ball inside and they did a great job of that. They out-rebounded us which really hurt us. We went to the zone and they missed a lot of first shots, but they got the second chances. When they went zone, they kept us off the free-throw line and we missed some shots that were good opportunities."
On his teams offensive improvement:
"I thought our offense was better today. We put up 79 points, so our offense was much better than the other day. I thought our players played more together today. We had a little better rhythm, so this is a step forward. As we move forward from here and continue to get better, then we'll win these types of games down the road."
On his team's movement on offense:
"It was better, it still was by no means perfect, but 16 assists to 18 turnovers is a better number. I think our team is starting to understand spacing and timing better."
On Ashley Colbert's contributions off the bench:
"That is huge for us because she was able to get to the free throw line and get some and-ones. The rest of our team struggled from the line today. It was big for her to step up. She had a really good performance going 6-of-6 from the field, which is a real positive performance."
TCU Guard Whitney Williams
On her team's three-point shooting:
"We shoot them a lot and it really opens up the court. When you have so many players that can drive and get to the rim, we can then stretch out the defense by hitting three's, which is really important to us."
