TCU Head Coach Jeff Mittie
On the game tonight:
"We did not get off to a great start. I told the group that everyone needed to pick it up and I think we did a good job."
Thoughts on the game overall:
"We are starting to get Delisa back playing well with more confidence again. Briesha had a lot of opportunities, but had trouble finishing. I was pleased with her opportunities. We had better balance tonight and had the chance to play a lot of players."
Where the team is heading into this weekend:
"We still seem a little unsure. We are missing shots and it looks to me like we are a little off. We are kind of questioning whether we are in the right spot and it is a tough way to play. The players that are having those problems are missing some easy shots right now."
On the play of Briesha Wynn:
"I think Briesha is in the process of getting opportunities, but not quite sure how she got there or how she got it. She is a great ball chaser and you see her get a lot of deflections and those types of plays. She had a big game tonight and very easily could have had a double-double."
"Where I have been pleased about Briesha is that we think she has the capabilities to be a great offensive rebounder. She has not been playing consistently and we are starting to see her in practice understand where she can really help this team."
TCU Senior Guard Helena Sverrisdottir
On her game tonight and how she felt out on the court:
"What I usually focus on is letting the game come to me. I do not go out there trying to force anything. I know I am going to get the shots and I felt like the team was able to find me tonight. I was feeling the shots. We are excited for Sunday and we have to start getting ready."
Where do you think the team is:
"It has been an up-and-down season so far. I think we are starting to see what we need to do. We have to come in every day and get better."
On her confidence going into Texas A&M:
"When your shots are going in like that, it just builds up your confidence. This makes me go into the next game with the thought that I am shooting well and I need to find some open shots."
TCU Sophomore Forward DeLisa Gross
On her comfort zone on the offensive side of the floor:
"I am starting to feel more comfortable offensively. In the beginning, I was struggling with my shot, but coach told me to keep on shooting. Really, I am taking better shots."
