FORT WORTH -- TCU's athletics department has tabbed Jessica Young and Ronnie Moss as its Athletes of the Week for the week of Dec. 13.
Young turned in a stellar performance in TCU's indoor-season debut and her first event back on the track since sitting out a year ago. She clocked a 60-meter time of 7.23 seconds, which is a TCU record and the fastest time in the NCAA for the indoor season.
The Columbia, S.C., native's time was also an NCAA automatic qualifying mark and a meet record at the Texas A&M Reveille Invitational. Young was also a major player, running the anchor leg, on TCU's 4 x 400-relay team that notched a meet-record 3:35.97, which is the third-fastest time in TCU history.
For his efforts, she was named the Mountain West Conference's Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
On the men's side, Moss earns the honor after leading the Horned Frogs to an 81-77 win over in-state rival Texas Tech on Dec. 8. His 16 points, including 12 in the second half, helped lift TCU to its second-straight win in Lubbock.
At Nebraska on Saturday, Moss dipped into double figures again, pouring in 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting. The Fort Worth, Texas, native, averaged 15 points, five rebounds and three assists for the two games.
