- TCU improved to 4-2 overall this season and 3-0 at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
- TCU featured its third different starting lineup of the season with Jarvis Ray earning his first career start.
- The 16-point margin of victory marked TCU's second-best ever in a victory over Houston. The top previous margin came during an 88-70 win on Jan. 14, 1976 in Fort Worth.
- TCU went to the free-throw line a season-high 26 times Saturday. Nineteen of the attempts came in the second half.
- Ronnie Moss led TCU in scoring for the four time this season and second straight game.
- J.R. Cadot finished with a career-high nine rebounds, which matched teammate Sammy Yeager's total against SMU (Nov. 16) for the team's top individual performance this season.
- TCU outscored the Cougars 20-8 in second-chance points and 26-13 in points off turnovers.
- Hank Thorns recorded his 100th career field-goal in the contest and also his 300th career point on the his opening basket of the second half.
- TCU won the rebounding battle (38-34) for the first time since the Nov. 16 home win over SMU. The Frogs were outrebounded in each of their three contests last week at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic in Springfield, Mass.
- TCU matched a season high by pulling down 13 offensive boards.
