WACO, Texas—The TCU men's tennis team finished off its opening fall weekend of action Saturday, as freshman Marius Cirstea and junior Zach Nichols played in the 'A' draw singles consolation bracket at the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate Invitational at the Bears' Baylor Tennis Center.
Cirstea won his first match of the day, a Round 3 tilt with Tulsa's Alastair Barnes, 6-7, 6-3, 1-0(9), but he was unable to continue on in the draw after suffering an injury in the match. TCU's other lone competitor on the day, Nichols, was eliminated from the consolation bracket in Round 3 by Arkansas' Matt Hogan, 6-1, 6-4.
For the weekend, TCU had players combine for eight victories in singles play.
