
Frogs Tied for Third Place at National Invitational Tournament

The TCU men's golf team posted a third-place showing after the first two rounds of action at the National Invitational Tournament with a team score of eight-under-par 568 at the Tucson National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz., on Sunday.
The University of New Mexico holds the team lead with a team score of 16-under-par 560 while UNLV (563), Arizona (568), TCU (568) and Kent State (572) round out the top-five.
James Sacheck (The Woodlands, Texas | Zionsville H.S.) was the Frogs' top golfer after the first 36 holes of action with a five-under-par score of 139 en route to finishing the day tied for third overall. In addition to a 71 in the first round of action, Sacheck collected a team-best 68 on the final 18 holes.
Johan de Beer (Pretoria, South Africa | Pretoria Boys' H.S.) finished one stroke back of his teammate in fourth place with a score of 140 (68-72), including 68 in the first round. Tom Hoge (Fargo, N.D. | Fargo South H.S.) finished tied for 25th overall with a score of 144 (75-69), which is even par for the tournament.
Scott Roudebush (Austin, Texas | Austin H.S.) finished the first two rounds of action tied for 46th overall with a score of 147 (73-74) while Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas | Paschal H.S.) finished tied for 60th overall with a score of 150 (73-77) after posting a 73 in the first round.
Freshman Alexander Knappe (Brulin, Germany | Berufs H.S.) competed as an individual where the TCU newcomer finished the day tied for fourth overall with a score of 140 (71-69).
The third and final round of the National Invitational Tournament will be held on Monday at the Tucson National Golf Club.
