Team Notes
*TCU improved to 43-0 when allowing 17 or fewer points under head coach Gary Patterson. Overall, the Frogs have won 58 consecutive games when holding the opponent to 17 points or less.
*TCU's 67 points are one shy of a single-game school-record 68 scored in a 68-0 win over Austin College on Oct. 22, 1932.
*TCU reached the 60-point mark for the first time since a 62-55 win at Houston on Oct. 25, 2003.
*TCU set a school record with nine touchdowns, breaking the previous mark of eight TDs recorded during the 2003 victory over Houston.
*The Horned Frogs improved to 45-6 in their last 51 home games at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*The Frogs' 42 first-half points tied a school record for most points in a half (since World War II). TCU had 42 in the first half during a 62-18 win at Utah State in the 1984 season opener (Sept. 15).
*After holding New Mexico to a field goal last week, TCU did not allow its 2008 opponents to reach the end zone until 5:17 had elapsed in the second quarter of game two when Stephen F. Austin scored on a 4th-and-goal pass from the 1-yard line.
*TCU improved to 31-3 since 2005 when playing on any day of the week other than Thursday. The Frogs are 28-3 on Saturdays over the last four seasons.
*The Frogs won their 22nd consecutive game when holding the edge in time of possession. The Frogs held the ball for 38:09.
*TCU was +4 in turnover margin. Over the last four seasons, TCU is 26-1 when ahead (23-1) or even (3-0) in that category.
*The Frogs improved to 21-1 in their last 22 games when allowing less than 333 yards of offense. Stephen F. Austin managed only 143 total yards Saturday.
*The Frogs rushed for 320 yards to win for the 23rd consecutive time when totaling at least 167 yards on the ground.
*TCU held Stephen F. Austin to three yards rushing. The Frogs are 46-5 under Patterson when holding their opponent under 100 yards on the ground.
*TCU improved to 39-5 when holding its opponent at or below 300 yards in total offense.
*Nine Frogs totaled a tackle for loss on the evening.
Individual Notes
*Jason Phillips' streak of 39 consecutive starts, representing every TCU game the last four years, came to an end. He did not play due to injury. Entering the game, Phillips' streak was tied for the fifth longest in the nation. Phillips wears jersey No. 39.
*Andy Dalton completed 11-of-13 passes for 131 yards. The 84.6 completion percentage was only two attempts shy of qualifying for third all-time in a single game at TCU.
*Weak safety Tejay Johnson, wide receiver Curtis Clay and linebacker Daryl Washington made their first collegiate starts. Johnson saw his first action of the season after missing last week's New Mexico game due to injury.
*Joseph Turner's three first-half scoring runs of 12, four and four yards give him four rushing touchdowns on the season and 11 in his career.
*Rafael Priest's first-quarter interception was the fourth of his career.
*Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley's 6-yard scoring run on the opening play of the second quarter was his first collegiate touchdown.
*Defensive end Jerry Hughes, the reigning MWC Defensive Player of the Week, recovered a fumble for the second straight game.
*For the second straight game, sophomore wide receiver Jimmy Young set a career-high for receptions. After totaling four grabs last week at New Mexico, Young established his new personal-best with seven first-half receptions for 104 yards.
*Young posted the second 100-yard receiving day of his career. He had 110 yards at Stanford last year.
*Ryan Christian's 7-yard second-quarter touchdown run was his first rushing touchdown of the season and third of his career.
*Steven Coleman's 33-yard second-quarter interception return for a touchdown was TCU's first score off a pick since Robert Henson reached the end zone on a 58-yard return versus SMU last season (Sept. 22).
*Coleman had an interception in each of TCU's opening two games this season. Coleman now has eight career picks to top all active Frogs.
*Andy Dalton's 11-yard third-quarter scoring run gave him five consecutive games with a rushing touchdown.
*Ryan Christian's 67 yards rushing on 11 carries was a career-high. His previous best was 51 yards at Air Force last season.
*Tejay Johnson recorded his first career interception with a third-quarter pick.
*True freshman wide receiver Antoine Hicks' first career reception was a 5-yard third-quarter grab.
*True freshman Ross Evans drilled a 45-yard third-quarter field goal to make him 3-of-4 on the season.
*Jonathan Jones' 14-yard third-quarter touchdown catch from Marcus Jackson represented his first career score and second career reception.
*Nick Sanders registered five tackles to tie for the team lead in stops with Robert Henson. Sanders also broke up a career-high three passes.
