LARAMIE, Wyo. - Jordan Calhoun posted five shots on Friday, but it wasn't enough as No. 29 TCU dropped a 1-0 conference match to Wyoming at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex.Calhoun looked to have put the Horned Frogs on the board early in the contest, but had her shot saved by Cowgirl goalkeeper Jamie Scarcliff. In the 29th minute, freshman Alex Mechalske blasted a shot from the left side of the box, but watched as her shot sailed just wide of the goal.
Right before the break, Calhoun, a freshman from Norman, Okla., tried to give TCU the lead, connecting on a ball from outside the box, but Scarcliff came up with another huge save for the Cowgirls in the 40th minute.
The Purple and White came out of the half firing as both Michelle Nguyen and Chelsea Cody tried to put the Horned Frogs on the board, but couldn't find the back of the net in the 55th minute.
After trading possessions for most of the half, Wyoming's Tamika Wilson took a pass late in the match from Jerrica Divincenzo and beat TCU goalkeeper Kelsey Walters for the lone score of the match.
Overall, Walters recorded four saves, while Scarcliff had three on a cold and windy day in Laramie. The Purple and White were led on offense by Calhoun's five shots, while three other Horned Frogs posted one shot for the match.
With the loss, TCU moved to 9-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference action, while Wyoming improved to 8-5-1 and 2-0-0 in conference play.
The Horned Frogs will continue conference action on Sunday at Air Force. Start time for the match against the Falcons is set for 1 p.m. MT.
