TCU head coach Dan Abdalla once again sat down with GoFrogs.com to give fans an inside look on what he likes about TCU and the area of Fort Worth.
This is the second installment of Coach Abdalla's weekly journal as the Horned Frogs will open the spring season in February.
Second Installment
Yes, the rumors are true I did dress up as the inflatable mascot over the holiday season. One of the things I love about TCU is how involved the student-athletes are at TCU. Really, it is so much fun to go to all of the events and see our whole team supporting the other programs. Even with our games and the tennis team coming out and beating the drums, it makes for a unique experience that not every university has. The way the facilities are set up here allow for the girls to become more involved with each other. TCU is such a student friendly campus that all of the student-athletes get to know each other pretty well. I think it is only going to get better and better with the new academic student center and continuous construction projects that keep opening up.
The area really presents itself with a big-time college feel, which is awesome. On game days when you have all the flags out and people walking around all over the place, it is really exciting. It is such a gorgeous area around campus and when you throw in the downtown environment, TCU is truly a unique situation. It is a safe environment and you really don't have many schools our size that has big-time athletics.
Overall, you can really see the love and support the community and city of Fort Worth has for our soccer program. We draw very well and are one of the top programs in the country in attendance. Its great for the kids to be able to go out and get the chance to play in front of 1,000 or more fans every single game.
